I haven’t had any cracking on the straps of my Artois or my Saint Louis, so I contacted my Goyard SA and sent the bag back for inspection. It was determined that the cracking was normal wear and tear, and I decided to have the straps replaced. The strap repair was $255 plus shipping charges of $25.
Goyard Tote bag strap replacement. When a Goyard Saint-Louis tote came in, we were both mystified and mortified. Someone had chosen to try and fit a roughly cut black leather as replacement handles. Our aim was to do a Goyard tote strap repair that was harder-wearing than the original. When I got back I realized the strap is super skinny and would prefer a thicker/wider strap. There doesn’t seem a way to replace the strap without cutting it off. Has anyone else thought of replacing the strap?
